Today’s IPL match, which was between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS), experienced a delay due to rain in Bengaluru city. The pre monsoon winds have been moving in Bengaluru for almost around 1 week, marking their presence today as well.
At the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, the match had to be rescheduled due to this and it depended on how long it would take to clear the waterlogging. Regardless, this stadium came with an advantage, as it has one of the best drainage systems in the world. It takes almost 20 minutes for the ground to be ready to play even after heavy rain.
After the rain had stopped, the toss was done at 10:45 PM IST, and the match officially began at 11:00 PM IST. It was changed to a reduced format of 14 overs each team. The match finished on time. The PBKS players did not let the rain decide their energy, and the results were in favour of PBKS by 5 wickets at 12:50 AM IST.
Now, the PBKS team is placed 2nd and RCB has moved down to 4th place in the IPL 2025 rankings.
