On 16th February, BCCI declared the schedule of the TATA IPL 2025 season. The tournament starts from 22nd March 2025 to 25th May 2025 with 74 matches in total at 13 locations, including all 12 double-headers.
This year’s opening match will be played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, as the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) face Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
The first double-header day will see Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) play against Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) play against the Mumbai Indians (MI). Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will play their opening match on 24th March in Visakhapatnam, while the Gujarat Titans (GT) will play against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, on 25th March.
Some teams like the Delhi Capitals at Visakhapatnam and New Delhi, the Rajasthan Royals at Jaipur and Guwahati, and the Punjab Kings at New Chandigarh will play in two venues. Hyderabad and Kolkata will host the playoffs, with the Qualifier 1 and Eliminator on May 20th and 21st, respectively, in Hyderabad and Qualifier 2 on May 23 in Kolkata.
The Grand Finale is scheduled for the 25th of May 2025.
