IPL 2025: KKR vs PBKS – A Nail-Biting Clash at Eden Gardens

IPL 2025 KKR vs PBKS – A Nail-Biting Clash at Eden Gardens

IPL 2025’s excitement hit a new level on April 26, as the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) took on Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. This was no regular match, as it was high-stakes with both teams looking to establish themselves in the points table, and staying in contention for the playoff stage.

KKR, captained by Shreyas Iyer, came into the match well, with a great mix of aged players and young stars that had been performing strong this season. The likes of Andre Russell, who could change a match in minutes, and Venkatesh Iyer, who had been cool as a cucumber, were all in form. Playing at Eden Gardens would suit KKR, knowing that the pitch would provide a little bounce and some pace from the ball, which would help their aggressive batsmen.

Punjab Kings, however, were now strangers to pressure themselves. They’re rich in destructive batting, from the steady hand of Shikhar Dhawan, the firepower of Liam Livingstone, and with confidence in Arshdeep Singh in the bowling line-up. Chasing down firing batsmen would be a big ask, but Punjab Kings would back themselves with their batting ability.
