India vs England 2nd ODI: Probable Playing XI– Will Kohli Return?

Indian cricket fans were taken aback when Virat Kohli was left out of India’s starting lineup for the first One Day International (ODI) against England in Nagpur.
 
His absence was unexpected because the three-match ODI series is considered a crucial lead-up to the 2025 Champions Trophy.
 
Before the game, Kohli was spotted with a lot of strapping on his knee. Rohit Sharma confirmed at the toss that the star batsman would not play because of knee pain.
 
Until Thursday in Nagpur, Kohli had avoided the injuries that frequently keep even the most resilient athletes out of action for 1,130 days.

Kohli’s knee problem, though, does not seem to be very serious. According to multiple media reports, the Indian batter is expected to be fit for selection in the second ODI.

Virat Kohli should start the innings after Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. KL Rahul should bat at five after Shreyas Iyer bats at four. Hardik Pandya ought to be the all-rounder with the fastest bowl. After a strong performance in Nagpur, Ravindra Jadeja nearly solidified his spot in the Champions Trophy XI, so Varun Chakravarthy may get a rest. Axar Patel ought to continue playing for the team. Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana could be the fast bowlers, and Kuldeep Yadav should be the specialist spinner.

There are fewer chances that the English team will make any changes in its team. Meanwhile, it would be the same as of the 1st ODI.
